Germanium Information
Organic Germanium is a trace mineral/element that is essential for a long, healthy life. Scientific studies over the past three decades have shown that Germanium plays a vital role as an oxygen catalyst, an antioxidant, a detoxifier, an immune stimulant and an adaptogen- a substance that does not cure, but helps the body help itself. Organic Germanium is found in mineral rocks, rare earths, rare waters such as Lourdes and Honshu, healing plants such as aloe, garlic, shiitake mushrooms, comfrey, chlorella, as well as in herbs such as shelf fungus, wild ginseng, sanzukon, suma, angelica, and waternut.

Dozens of scientific studies have shown that germanium appears to have a wide range of health benefits. This includes helping to boost the immune system, reduce high blood pressure and cholesterol, protect the body against harmful cellular dysfunctions, providing some pain relief, reduce rheumatoid arthritis symptoms and generally enhance overall well being. Research has also shown that germanium stimulates the immune system in cancer patients as well as healthy individuals. Overall, the evidence suggests that germanium activates the body’s own defenses.

Germanium Uses
Germanium improves tissue oxygenation because it acts as an oxygen carrier to cells. One study has shown that a 100-300 mg supplement taken daily can improve many illnesses including rheumatoid arthritis, food allergies, elevated cholesterol, candidiasis, chronic viral infections, cancer, and AIDS. Germanium also helps fight pain. It keeps immune system functioning properly and rids the body of toxins and poisons.

Germanium Dosage Information
Germanium is best gained through the diet; however, supplementation works well for the conditions listed earlier. It is important to use organic Germanium, or Germanium biscarboxyethyl sesquioxide-132 (Ge132), which are the safest forms. Germanium dioxide and Germanium lactate citrate are inferior versions that can be dangerous to your health and could cause death.  Some deficiency signs that may appear are  infections, immune disorders, cancer, heart disease, high cholesterol, and arthritis.

Germanium Safety
Germanium is regarded as safe when taken in the recommended doses. Some individuals may develop kidney problems, or have a toxic reaction to this mineral if they exceed recommended doses. Safety in young children, pregnant or nursing women, or those with severe liver or kidney disease is not known.
